With the Help for Heroes charity being close to many of our drivers’ and employees’ hearts, Kinaxia aim to support the charity, raising money and promoting awareness at each Truckfest.

Kinaxia were thrilled to have inspirational veteran, Andy Reid, join them on their stand at North West Truckfest on the 14th and 15th of September.

In 2009, whilst on patrol in Helmand Province, a Taliban improvised device exploded. Corporal Andy Reid defied all the odds and survived the blast, being able to meet up with members of his patrol just one month later.

Now, a triple amputee, Andy has achieved nothing short of greatness since the blast. Skydives, bike rides, motivational talks and being a doting husband and father are just a few of Andy’s achievements over the last decade.

Andy, being a close friend of Mark Thompson Operations Director, Jimmy Scott, joined Kinaxia over the weekend. As well as being an ambassador for ABF Soldier’s Charity for over 9 years, Andy does a lot of fundraising for Help for Heroes, a charity close to Kinaxia.

The charity has also helped Andy settle back into life outside of the army, installing a brand-new driveway into his home. His original gravel drive was not wheelchair friendly, making it difficult for Andy to get in and out. So, Help for Heroes installed a new paved driveway to make access much easier.

Andy is passionate about supporting fellow veterans, particularly those in search of work after leaving the armed forces. He is keen to help get veterans into driving, utilising the dedicated and strong work ethic taught during their time in the forces.

We wish Andy all the success in the future, particularly when he receives his MBE in November this year and look forward to hearing his next inspirational tale!
