Kinaxia’s first Peterborough TruckFest commenced on the 5th and 6th of May.

Kinaxia’s first Peterborough TruckFest commenced on the 5th and 6th of May. Setting up began on the Friday with the support of our group companies across the UK. Celebrating together over a BBQ on the Saturday night, various departments came together including recruitment, drivers and compliance.

The annual event showcases numerous pitches across the UK. TruckFest began in 1983, marking 2019 as the 36^th annual TruckFest. It is a festival featuring a variety of trade stands, music entertainment, food stalls, and monster trucks.

Mark Stevenson, Kinaxia’s Recruitment, Training, and Compliance Director commented: “it was a great evening with everyone getting to know each other from all group companies. Drivers from all over the UK attended, developing new Kinaxia friendships, based on a common interest of attending TruckFest and showing their vehicles”.

With the excitement of the show starting at 9am on Sunday morning, the stand was “flat out all day”. 40,000 people the show on Sunday alone! Kinaxia’s plot had hundreds of people visiting, with attendees showing a great interest in the stand for recruitment of drivers, our wonderful array of trucks and the ‘Hang Tough Challenge’. The challenge also became centre stage on the Monday, as football manager and ‘King of the Jungle’ Harry Redknapp visited the stand, awarding the winner at 2 minutes 49 seconds. The challenge helped to raise £200 for Help for Heroes.

Later in the weekend, the Recruitment Team was invited to the main event area for an interview to address the crowd about the Kinaxia Group. The speakers were also invited to share how Kinaxia benefits from recruiting drivers at the event. They then presented several trophies and cheques to Truck Show winners.

Kinaxia thank everybody for their support in sharing their Bank Holiday by helping on the stand and preparing their fleet for all attendees to see. The countdowns to Malvern (29-30^th June) and Knutsford (14-15^th September) TruckFests have begun!
