Kinaxia Logistics has taken the strategic decision to unite two of their existing subsidiaries, BC Transport, and William Kirk. Since the 1st June 2019, the companies have been operating under the common name of ‘William Kirk’.
Kinaxia acquired William Kirk in October 2013 and BC Transport in December 2017. With the two companies working closely in the run-up to the merger, the blending of workforces has been seamless. The subsidiaries are now functioning from one site, based in Adlington, which was originally the operational head office of William Kirk.
The fundamental driver of the transition was the streamlining of operations. Both subsidiaries were Palletforce members, therefore it made sense for them to operate as one entity serving the SK postcode for the pallet network. This will leave a larger fleet of vehicles at their disposal, as well as back end office staff, serving to enhance performance, increase efficiencies and provide a positive impact on service levels. In addition to customer benefits, the move offers greater job security for existing staff and strengthens business relationships moving forwards.
Carl Wagstaffe, who remains in office as Managing Director, has commended his staff for their ‘continued loyalty and dedication to the common goals of the Kinaxia Group’.
William Kirk became the second member of the Kinaxia Group in 2013. The Kinaxia subsidiary has over 50 years of logistics expertise and boasts industry-leading accreditations such as FORS Bronze and BRC status.
