Salary: £9 per hour

Panic Transport are recruiting a Site Caretaker to join their team at their site in Rugby. The successful candidate will provide and effective and efficient cleaning and caretaking service to ensure that all designated facilities are kept in a clean, safe and orderly condition and maintained in accordance with the required standards.

About the Job:

  • Maintain tidy and organized workspaces and storage areas with the appropriate amount of cleaning stock to ensure products are readily available;
  • Clean, and sanitise all designated facility areas to maintain a high standard of cleanliness to the business, this will include but not limited to; dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning;
  • Restock and maintain supplies in bathrooms and kitchen areas, such as soap, toilet paper and paper towels to ensure stock is readily available;
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks as requested to include issues such as drain clearance, minor tiling and plumbing, replacing light bulbs, painting, repair of furniture etc.;
  • Cleaning and maintenance of outdoor areas and weed clearance;
  • Conduct basic safety checks including weekly and monthly fire alarm testing, emergency lighting tests, checks on emergency door releases, fire extinguishers and all associated recording;
  • Conduct daily checks of slip, trip and falls hazard, fire exit door and walkway obstruction, and levels of spill kits for spillages;
  • Undertake other duties as assigned or emergency tasks (for example snow clearance);
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs to maintain high levels of health and safety;
  • Follow all safe working practices and check any equipment / machinery used to ensure health and safety guidelines are being adhered to;
  • Work independently and without constant supervision to ensure tasks are completed and results provided in accordance with the required standards;
  • Empty waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points.

Your knowledge and experience:

  • Knowledge of cleaning supplies
  • Proven working experience as a cleaner or caretaking role
  • Good general maintenance skill
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety principles
  • GCSE’S at grade A-C in English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent)
