Lambert Brothers are recruiting a Transport Operator to join their team at their site in Andover. This is a unique opportunity to grow an existing transport operation with a high degree of self-management and autonomy in decision making required from the successful candidate.

About the Job:

  • Oversee all pallet network delivery and collection activity including load planning and vehicle loading
  • Supervise all driver operational activity from start of day processes and end of day de-briefing and POD processing in line with agreed KPI’s
  • Administer all Stirling TMS and network intranet systems according to service level agreements and to maintain optimum KPI performance, including driver productivity and vehicle earning targets
  • Oversee all non-conformances and resolutions as main point of contact for network delivery queries via phone and TMS messaging
  • Liaising with off-site fleet maintenance providers to ensure vehicle inspections are up to date
  • Driver recruitment from effective job advertising, interview, selection, induction, training and on-going mentoring
  • Maintain all other company IT systems including vehicle tracking, defect management and HR support
  • Confidence in speaking to customers in person and developing local transport efficiencies and synergies
  • Supporting main customer operational activity and development and positive upkeep of site integrity and relationships
  • Identify new business development opportunities and support Sales team in attracting new business
  • Support all other LBH transport activity and development of synergies as required
  • Support ongoing development of TMS and other work IT platforms
  • Ensure all site and on-road risk assessments are maintained


Your knowledge and experience:

  • Good knowledge of Operator Licencing Undertakings – CPC desirable but not essential
  • Proficiency in supervising transport and associated loading operations – FLT licence desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of software systems – Stirling TMS, Contrado, Trutac, CheckedSafe and Blue Tree telematics (training support will be provided)
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of financial monitoring KPI’s
  • Personable and confident in liaising with customers
