Head of TMS Applications Delivery

Kinaxia Logistics are seeking to recruit a Head of TMS Applications Delivery who will be responsible for the successful and effective implementation, delivery and support of TMS applications used in the Group companies.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver and contribute to a strategic technological vision and direction which analyses business needs and identifies Transport Management solutions;
  • Project manage the implementation of any TMS system changes through the full project life cycle by providing regular project reporting on all TMS development activities to ensure strategic objectives are being met and changes are implemented to agreed timescales with minimum disruption to the business;
  • Lead on the data process flows to provide visibility of all information relating to customer activity;
  • Ensure effective training sessions and documented best practice process and procedures for key users of all systems to ensure the systems meet all business requirements, are fit for purpose and are being fully utilized across the Group;
  • Implement an effective application support strategy and act as the point of contact for support escalation for all TMS related matters. Manage the support partners and create a centralized knowledge base document to ensure common system errors and resolutions are shared within the Group;
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and manage the integration of third-party systems including internal and external pallet networks, route-planning, electronic proof-of-delivery to improve operational efficiency;
  • Provide best practice guidance to configure TMS systems for use by new sites according to the agreed operational best practice.
  • Manage an annual operating budget to be set on an annual basis and agreed by the Board.

Experience ,skills and Knowledge required:

  • Relevant experience in TMS software development and project and change management
  • Multi-site environment in Transport and Warehousing sector
  • Full life cycle project management including leadership of user acceptance testing (scripts and scenarios)
  • Continuous professional development of TMS application software.
  • Working knowledge of file transfer protocols and automated solutions.
  • Working knowledge of SQL based applications and data reporting.
  • Project and change management
  • Strong customer service ethos to internal customers.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal
  • Analytical and problem-solving
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Proactive Leadership
  • Ability to be hands-on when required.

Essential to this role:

  • Formal project management qualification PMI, Prince 2 is desirable.
  • Full clean car driving licence.
  • Mobility is essential and travel to each Group company location as and when required.
