Transport Operator

Job Role:
 

• Working as part of a team to ensure deliveries / collections are achieved on a daily basis.
• Daily vehicle and trailer planning, maximising the efficiency and productivity.
• Ensuring planned routes are in line with working time directive (WTD) and driving hours.
• Liaising with third party depots to problem solve delivery issues, finding solutions.
• Dealing with incoming phone calls quickly and efficiently.
• Ensuring Timed/AM deliveries are achieved with high levels of accuracy.
• Ensuring accurate maintenance of specific operational spreadsheets.
• Management of driver EPOD devices monitoring deliveries completed on time and in full. Customer account managing to ensure our outstanding KPI service is achieved and maintained.
• Managing customer expectations.Undertake any other tasks/duties as required by the need of the business.

 

Key Skills Required:

• Strong geographical knowledge.
• Previous work experience in a distribution environment.
• Knowledge of transport legislation.
• Excellent IT skills (ability to touch-type is highly desirable).
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook etc).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Well organised, taking ownership of tasks.

• Driven, self-motivated.
• Team player.
