Finance Apprenticeship

Megan Matthews; Finance Apprentice

Megan is an Accounts Apprentice for Kinaxia, based at David Hathaway Transport in Bristol. She tells us more about the highlights of her time as a Kinaxia apprentice…

My typical day starts at 9am with sorting through invoices for the day. I register and scan them into the computer, before sorting them into numerical order and file them into the correct folder. I use the computer quite a bit throughout the day before finishing at 5pm.

I have always wanted to work within an office-based role, so when this opportunity came up, I took it as I would like to pursue a career in the finance/business industry. I would like to progress within the role and this apprenticeship seems to be the perfect starting point.

The best bit of advice I have been given is not to worry if you get something wrong as it will always be able to be sorted out one way or another.

The best thing about my apprenticeship is learning new things and putting them into practice when I can. Learning new skills has been the highlight of the role so far as I know I will be able to use what I have learnt in the future.
