Rolling in on Roman trucks selling fruit and veg in 1975, Fresh Freight has evolved to become one of the most recognised and reliable refrigerated freight offerings. From humble beginnings. To a fleet of 60 vehicles and 150000 square ft of warehousing, the Fresh Freight Group, based in Gateshead, are a welcome addition to the Kinaxia family.
We speak to MD Dominic Quigley to get some ‘Fresh Freight Flavour’ and glean insight into his industry expertise…
What made you enter the logistics industry?
A happy accident really! I was weighing up what to do after leaving University and my Dad was short of drivers, so I stepped in delivering flowers around the North East. The rest, as they say, is history!
What’s the most exciting thing about your job?
The variety and challenge I face every day keeps things exciting and fresh.
Tell us about what Fresh Freight means to you?
I am immensely proud of the evolutionary journey the business has undertaken, especially the people who have supported us along the way.
Can you tell us a little bit more about the service Fresh Freight offers?
We offer a truly unique customer-focused, multi-modal solution. Built around the core areas of temperature-controlled transport, pallet network and general haulage; also incorporating car deliveries, freight forwarding, event support and overnight parcels.
What made you choose to become part of the Kinaxia family?
I have always believed that shared knowledge and resources were the way forward in an increasingly divisive marketplace. Joining Kinaxia is the perfect anecdote to this.
If you could sum up the spirit of fresh freight in 3 words, what would they be?
Positive, ethical & competitive.
Kinaxia are immensely proud to have Fresh Freight Group (FFG) as their 11th acquisition. The first of the group to be based in the North East. We look forward to our continuing success with the freshest freight group around!
