1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2018

The 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain is an annual report created by the London Stock Exchange Group as a way to celebrate and highlight the fastest growing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK and Europe.

This report takes a look at a wide range of industries, noting any trends, opportunities and challenges that arise as well as their overall importance to the economy.

"SMEs are the heartbeat of our economy, driving jobs and growth. Their dynamism plays a huge part in the UK's ability to innovate and export" Nikhil Rathi, CEO, London Stock Exchange plc.

The criteria for companies that make the list include having group revenues of between £6m - £250m and having been incorporated within the last three years. The average annual turnover growth rate is then calculated over a three-year period, with the top 1000 companies to experience fastest growth making the list.

This is a great way to highlight up and coming SMEs and industries that are experiencing rapid growth, and a view of the challenges that may be facing them.
